This is a one-off preloved piece and can't be restocked This piece of beautiful bohemian pottery was produced in the 1970s by one of our favourite vintage ceramicists, Hornsea (which sadly closed in 2000). A deep brown coloured dish with a white outline and centrepiece giving an evil-eye, Bulgarian feel. In brilliant condition for its age with only minor surface marks. Hornsea is quite a collectable brand and Sarah has actually had one of these little dishes in her own collection for quite a few years, it's perfect for little pieces of jewellery. Beautiful soft colours of the sunrise, with peachy pinks, mustard yellow and burnt orange. The scene depicts a view over some adorable little houses set in the countryside, with hills and the sky as you move further up. What we really love is the texture on this; thick bobbles depicting the ground and the addition of ropes and string to denote the suns rays covering everything. This gorgeous piece was made back in 1981 by Afro Weavers, sadly although printed on the tag, there's no information about the person who made it. Pieces like this are highly valuable and worth every penny - smaller pieces are currently selling for more money on second hand sites!
